Climate Controlled Classroom & Shoot House

Barbour Creek Shooting School’s long-range shooting facility was designed by Mark Simpson to provide a training facility for long-range hunters to learn and perfect their skills. The placement of this facility creates various wind situations, making it one of the most challenging ranges anywhere. Learning to calculate wind in difficult situations using mirage and wind meters is a skill that no long-range hunter can do without.

Our two-story shoot-house has five available shooting benches as well as five prone shooting windows set in a comfortable rustic atmosphere. Being that we are in South Alabama, the shoot-house is climate-controlled, keeping our guests comfortable on those hot Alabama afternoons. This range allows for shots from 300 to 1000 yards.

Barbour Creek Shooting School’s classroom is the ideal environment for holding the indoor portion of our Long Range Courses. The classroom is climate controlled with immediate access to our long-range facility.

Level 2 Long Range Hunting Course

The level 2 master course is designed to put you in real hunting positions. Across the valley and ridge lines with mild angles are targets from 375 yards to 1670 yards with an additional target at 1776 yards ( just over a mile ). Our targets are life-sized animal targets to provide you with the most realistic hunting scenario shot placement.

Our Level 2 property will give you difficult wind situations with valley, vectors and updrafts. The wind technique James Eagleman teaches is unparalleled in the long range shooting world.
